Volunteers share their experiences of being used as God's hands and feet at the Narrow Door. What a tremendous blessing it is to hear how God is being seen in the community.Hear is one of many:DaveAs you know, I volunteer part-time for the Narrow Door, and what a gift it has been.I wanted to share a story that happened to me and several volunteers while serving one Saturday.About a month back, we came to a complex that had many families in need. As we paired-up, me and two college students that came heard some wonderful prayer and praises from these families. In one of the apartments, a lady said that her brother called her the day before explaining that he was in desperate need for food and that he did not have any money. So she said: Lets pray. And they proceeded to pray to the Lord for food knowing their prayer would be answered. When we dropped off the food to her, she told us about the prayer from the day before, and that that box was answer to that prayer. Her joy, calmness, and self-control when we dropped off the box I will never forget, as you could tell she knew God would provide in time of need. That day, many of us got together to bless each other with how people responded to us as we met them at there door. We all had some wonderful testimonies of what the Lord is doing with these people. When Jesus was on earth, He continued to meet peoples needs. As He met peoples needs, they followed Him to the point that He had a crowd. Once He had that crowd, they got to hear and see what the truth was truly about. One of the many ways that we can make the love of God tangible and real, is through going to them and meeting their needs. With so much unemployment and under-employment, the need to facilitate families with providing boxes of food has been a blessing to both parties.Thank you for letting me be a part of what you do.In HimRJWOW, What an encouraging story. It usually starts out the same: The first time we go and introduce ourselves to a complex or trailer home, most people are a bit skeptical (as I would be). They do wonder about our motives.Usually within a few visits, coming with food, they start to welcome us more and more. The Lord has been so gracious, as we get to build relationships with many wonderful families. The prayer requests we receive most are for their family members who have health problems, or for employment (this is coming from people who will usually take any job, no matter how hard). So please pray with us for their needs, and most importantly, that they come to know the Lord and grow in Him.Just as the lady in RJ's story asked God to help her in her time of need, so too, we should not be reticent to lay our needs before our Father in Heaven. At this time, The Narrow Door is in need of continual funding, both in Ministry and Missionary Support, to reach the lost and needy in the Coachella Valley. Please join us in prayer as we seek God's face for this funding. In Him,David RamirezMissionarywww.TheNarrowDoor.org
